WHEN THE SIDEWALK BECOMES A CATWALK

Almost nine million people live in NYC, and every year, almost 60 million people visit from all over the world. Since people come in all shapes and sizes and from all different backgrounds, New York City sidewalks are always good for people watching.
NYC is the official fashion capital of the world because of its fashion shows and fashion institutes but mostly because of the unique fashion styles of its residents. Fashion is a way of expressing yourself, and people in New York have always had a strong desire to show others what they think.
Some New Yorkers become famous for the way they dress. Keep an eye out for The Naked Cowboy, the Rat Man, and the guy dressed in 30 days worth of garbage.
With fashionistas, artists, people dressed in traditional clothes from their home countries, people who follow religious dress codes, people protesting against something with their choice of clothes, and panhandlers dressed like Elmo or the Statue of Liberty, there is no limit to the fashion you’ll see in NYC.
A big part of what makes New York City so fascinating is all the different people on its sidewalks. Be careful not to be distracted and to stumble over open cellar doors!
